Until a few years ago the word “transhumanism” was unheard of, until movies like Avatar, Bicentennial Man, the Terminator, X-Men, and recently Transcendence arrived on the scene. Now many people have been awakened to the possibility of gene or robotically modified humans. It’s not just in the movies anymore, it’s a reality!

“Transhumanism is an international cultural and intellectual movement with an eventual goal of fundamentally transforming the human condition by developing and making widely available technologies to greatly enhance human intellectual, physical, and psychological capacities.  Transhumanist thinkers study the potential benefits and dangers of emerging technologies that could overcome fundamental human limitations, as well as the ethics of developing and using such technologies. They speculate that human beings may eventually be able to transform themselves into beings with such greatly expanded abilities as to merit the label “posthuman” [a hypothetical future being whose basic capacities so radically exceed those of present humans as to beno longer unambiguously human by our current standards.]“. Wikipedia definition of Transhumanism 

Our generation is witnessing the rise of this radical social movement known as transhumanism and many of them are looking to the future with religious fervor. In New York City’s Lincoln Center world-renowned scientific thinkers, inventors, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, and spiritual leaders met for the Global Future 2045 International Congress. This meeting, also known as GF2045, was part of the broad and comprehensive endeavor that began in 2011. Dmitry Itskov, a Russian multimillionaire, birthed the 2045 Initiative who’s goal it was to create a social evolution of the human race through transhumanism and cybernetic immortality.

This organization along with DARPA, the National Intelligence Council, Department of Defense, and other governmental agencies are now working towards  specific accomplishments in the near future:

• Virtual Reality- They are seeking to create technologies where persons can exist in a virtual world similar to that of the Matrix.

• Cryogenics- People frozen in hopes of being revived through technological advances in the future. Many believe given time through nanotechnology they can be revived.

• Gene Therapy- Replacing bad genes with good genes and RNA interference. Scientist believe they can “play God” by manipulating the very thing that makes us who we are. They are currently manipulating animal genes and human genes.

• Cybernetics

• Mega scale engineering

• Super intelligent machines- Artificial intelligence with self-taught networks.

• Personality pills- Through drug and gene therapy these pills will help you overcome shyness, jealousy, increase creativity, and enhance emotions, etc.

• Space Colonization- Expensive, but likely.

• Molecular Nanotechnology and Self Replicating Robots- This technology is the hypothetical design and manufacture of machines to atomic-scale precision. They can build, replicate, configure, perform surgeries, and more.

• Mind Control and Telepathic capabilities

• Extended Life Spans- This could be accomplished through gene-therapy and manipulation.

• Super Soldiers- Soldiers with unusual super strength, agility, and speed.

At the core of Transhumanism movement lies the belief of singularity—the exponential increase in technological advances so rapid that the human mind is unable to grasp its implications. They believe this event will usher in a new era for the human race in which limited mortals transcend their biological bodies and  set out to conquer the universe. It’s comparable to the Christian anticipation of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

The transhumanist agenda serves as a reminder of what the human race is without the blood of Christ–an enemy of God. A movement that views its core objective as bringing illumination to the universe sets itself up in direct opposition to God’s own purpose. This is the very definition of rebellion, and it’s the inevitable result of fallen mankind’s sinful nature.
