“Pro-choice” California doesn’t believe GAY people should have a choice at all – counseling professionals to be fined and jailed
Ethan Huff
The Golden State is often said to be one of the most socially accepting of “alternative” lifestyles that defy the norm. But when it comes to allowing people who identify as LGBT to seek counseling from professionals about issues related to sexual orientation and gender, for instance, California appears to be on the verge of saying, “no way, José!”
Should it pass and be signed into law, Assembly Bill 2943 would actually make it a criminal offense for licensed professionals to offer counseling services to members of the LGBT community who no longer wish to be a part of it.
Entitled “Unlawful business practices: sexual orientation change efforts,” AB 2943 specifically prohibits so-called “conversion” therapy, which involves counseling LGBT individuals in an attempt to help them become “straight.” Certain groups and politicians in California don’t like the idea of conversion therapy, even though some people have benefited from it, so they’re trying to eliminate all access to it.
The bill is such an affront to personal freedom and choice that several hundred people recently rallied at the California State House in Sacramento to protest it. In attendance at this rally were dozens of “ex-gays” who spoke out about how conversion therapy helped them to live the lives they desired.
“I did not want to be gay,” stated Christian pastor Jim Domen, a recipient of conversion therapy who now has a wife and children and is living happily apart from the cult of LGBT. “Please do not take away professional help programs that have helped people like me.”
Sponsored solution from the Health Ranger Store: The Big Berkey water filter removes almost 100% of all contaminants using only the power of gravity (no electricity needed, works completely off-grid). Widely consider the ultimate "survival" water filter, the Big Berkey is made of stainless steel and has been laboratory verified for high-efficiency removal of heavy metals by CWC Labs, with tests personally conducted by Mike Adams. Pro-golfer Kris Olsen, a former lesbian, also made her voice known at the event. If people have the right to live as members of the LGBT community, then why shouldn’t they have the right not to with the help of a professional?
“AB 2943 violates my right to choose,” Olsen declared. “It is a blatant violation of my First Amendment rights and I believe there’s a reason why our Founding Fathers chose to put these rights in the very First Amendment.”
As stated in the bill, its passage would effectively ban all “advertising, offering for sale, or selling services constituting sexual orientation change efforts to an individual.” Anything falling into this category would be categorized as “unfair or deceptive acts or practice,” making them an illegal offense.
If conversion therapy “doesn’t work,” then why the aggressive push to ban it?
Opponents of conversion therapy have called it abusive, claiming as well that it doesn’t work and is a waste of time. If this is the case, then why are they pushing so aggressively to ban it in the state of California, and presumably throughout the rest of the country in the soon future?
It’s similar to how vaccine cultists who claim that all vaccines are 100 percent safe and effective as they simultaneously push to block all contradictory information from reaching the public. If vaccines are so wonderful as claimed, then why not have an open and honest debate about them that includes publishing actual news stories instead of just industry propaganda?
So much for freedom of choice, wouldn’t you say? Somehow, leftists believe that it falls in line with their credo of “personal choice” to restrict the type of counseling that people can opt for in the state of California. Politicians rather than individuals, these leftists apparently believe, are better suited to make such decisions – at the end of a gun barrel, if necessary.
“Sacramento politicians want to deny the people of California the freedom to find joy in living consistently with their values, including as they relate to their sexuality,” says Dr. Joseph Nicolosi, a licensed clinical psychologist who currently runs the largest reparative therapy clinic in the world.
“I help people resolve the issues that are causing them conflict, affirm them in their journey, and help them achieve their goals – not the politician’s goals!”
