Hello and thank you for visiting the LibertyFight.com traffic ticket archive page. On this page you will find real-life stories of how I and others beat their traffic (revenue) tickets. I am not a lawyer and wouldn't want to be one. ["But he said: Woe to you lawyers also, because you load men with burdens which they cannot bear..." Luke 11:46]
I do not give legal advice, but rather simply share my experiences with fighting and beating traffic tickets. I have beaten over 15 tickets in court in California, including one in California Superior Court of Appeals (without a lawyer), where a panel of three Superior Court Appellate Judges ruled for me and overturned a phony speeding ticket conviction. When fighting traffic citations, I always do the following:
- 1. When the cop pulls you over, never admit anything. Just sign the ticket and leave. The cop is recording everything and will use whatever you say against you in court.
- 2. When being ticketed, I always demand the County Seat before signing the ticket, which usually makes the cop (the witness for the prosecution) drive further out of his way.
- 3. Remember the presumption of innocence and that it is incumbent on the state to prove your guilt. You may very well have been doing 'XYZ,' but it is their obligation to prove their case. After all, they "love the law" so much, right? Yeah, sure. Then let them FOLLOW IT.
- 4. Get all the extensions you can prior to the arraignment date (your first court date, the 'due' date on the ticket.) Depending on the court, extensions might be given online, or over the phone, or at the court clerk's window. Dragging it out is a key step. Those who are in a hurry to "take care of the ticket" are in a hurry to LOSE.
- 5. Do a trial through the mail (called a Trial By Written Declaration.)
