I just got off the phone with Jeff Schwilk, our key contact in San Diego who had on hand more than 30,000 petitions from Grassfire team members for the rallies protesting appearances by John McCain and Barack Obama before the radical group La Raza.

As expected, both McCain and Obama strongly reiterated their commitment to "comprehensive" immigration reform -- amnesty. In fact, Obama attacked McCain by saying he had "abandoned" amnesty, to which McCain responded by asserting his pro-amnesty position.

During my call with Jeff, I also asked him for a first-hand report on the need for a real double-layer fence. I want you to hear what Jeff had to say and then let's keep the pressure on Congress to reinstate the Secure Fence Act -- starting with McCain and Obama.
Call Senator McCain's and Obama's offices and tell them you want the Secure Fence Act reinstated immediately. Urge them to support a Senate version of the "Fence By Date Certain Act."
