Trump Comes to Home Depot Co-Founder's Defense After Calls for Boycott

President Trump has come to the defense of Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus after liberals began to call for the boycott of the company.
According to The Daily Wire:
Ever since Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus said that he will donate some of his multi-billion dollar fortune to President Trump's 2020 re-election effort, leftists have been vowing to boycott his home improvement empire. In response to this insanity, President Trump publicly praised Marcus for being a "great, patriotic, and charitable man" on Twitter.
....to your favorite President, me! These people are vicious and totally crazed, but remember, there are far more great people (“Deplorables”) in this country, than bad. Do to them what they do to you. Fight for Bernie Marcus and Home Depot!
The company has issued a statement claiming that Marcus retired around 15 years ago and is not speaking on behalf of the company. The company also pointed out that it is standard practice that they do not endorse presidential candidates. The controversy erupted in late June when Marcus announced that he will be supporting President Trump's re-election while also praising his "businessman’s common sense approach to most things." He did, however, criticize the president's communication skills by taking on every battle.
"[Trump’s] got a businessman’s common sense approach to most things," Marcus said. "Now, do I agree with every move that he makes? No, I don’t. But the truth is he has produced more than anybody else. He has. If we look at this country, I would say that we are better off today than we were eight years ago or six years ago."

Immediately thereafter, the #BoycottHomeDepot hashtag began trending on Twitter, with people vowing to give business over to Home Depot competitor Lowes, instead. In response, a representative from the company said that Marcus formally departed Home Depot 15 years ago and does not speak on behalf of the home improvement corporate empire.
